A 17th Century carved softwood panel of a gentleman, carrying a handkerchief in his left hand, a dog at his feet, the female reclining with basket of flowers before, houses and church beyond, all in a wooded landscape, beaded slip and guilloche carved frame.
There is evidence of old woodworm to both the panel and frame, but this does not detract from the item. There have been old repairs to the edge of the frame. It has the sort of wear and has faults that are commensurate with a piece of this age.
